Its "Towel Day"

Its Towel Day today. Why Towel Day? Well, if you dont yet know about the Holy Remarkable Book - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this is what the book has to say on the topic of Towels:

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of akrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-and-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid nimal, it ssumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough
So take a towel and wrap it around your head. Then listen to this Song and have a good day!

Song written by Joby Talbot for the soundtrack of the movie The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, dedicated to Douglas Adams who breathed his last on 11 May 2001. A dolphin animation of the song here.

For the uninitiated, Douglas Adams' birthday is celebrated as Towel Day across the world. The man has left enough sarcacsm in the world to laugh about things. Towel Day is one I suppose. Read more on why Towel day here. He is one of those english men the whole world loves. I mean given the history of the British, it is tough to find such "English" men, you know!

PS: Yours truly is a little busy and thus has temporarily disabled the "Interesting Post of the Week" thread. Thread to be restarted very soon!

Corretion: The song is not written by Garth Jennings as I wrote previously but by Joby Talbot. He wrote the original soundtrack for the movie.
